According to the data on the sales of footwear in Great Britain, in the last 5 years the foot size of an average British has sufficiently grown. The doctors explain this tendency by the enormous increase in the number of people suffering from obesity.
Five years ago the average size of the shoes, bought by the Brits, was 42, however, today, the usual number is 43. Also specialists have detected a certain increase in the sales of footwear marked with sizes 48 to 50.
The biggest foot size have the men from Birmingham, they are followed by the male inhabitants of Liverpool, than go Belfast, Cardiff and London.
ccording to the specialists, that have run a series of tests and research, the foo size of the women has also grown up, including both the increase in length and width.
Tam Fry, the representative of a British organization Child Growth Foundation, that studies the problems of growth and development in children, names the following reason of the foot-growing tendency: our growth hormone is stimulated by the increasing amount of food, that children eat. In other words, this is one of the consequences of acceleration process.
