One of the best and the most beloved fashion designer of these days Alexander McQueen died on February 11th at the age of 40. He made a major contribution to the world of fashion. Alexander McQueen will always remain one of the boldest and most extravagant fashion designers we have known. Here I have some pieces of his.

What really shocks is that the designer’s mother dies just a few days ago. According to his words, mother’s death was pretty difficult for him to overcome. And a few days after that the designer hung himself in his London house. His catwalk show that was supposed to take place on Thursday was cancelled.

Alexander McQueen had a very successful career. He is the owner of multiple awards such as the Designer of the Year from 1996 to 2003, and even an award from the Queen herself.

At the weekend took place a charity show in the framework of New York Fashion Week, which became a salute in honor to the designer.

Lady Gaga, Alexander McQueen’s muse, is going to play tribute to the designer with her performance at the BRITs. The singer admits still being in shock. She says Alexander McQueen had a great influence on her outfits and an image in general. The thing is the majority of her extravagant dresses and suits were Alexander’s creations. I suppose everybody remembers the red lace McQueen dress the singer wore at the MTV Music Awards 2009.

I wonder that after it was announced Alexander McQueen’s death, sales of his collection increased by 1400%. Among those who wanted to get the latest creations of the master were many celebs such as Sienna Miller, Naomi Campbell and Kylie Minogue. The domain belonging to McQueen is now on auction at $ 1 million. Millions of fans have already called it a bad manner.

Recently, Christian Louboutin designs more and more shoes in pink shades. Some connoisseurs have already called it a “pink period” in designer’s creative work. Pink color has turned into a trend for a season to come. The idea has already been picked up by other designers and a lot of shoe models in pink appear on the market lately.

The sandal is made of multicolor chiffon with waterproof prints. A fringe that goes along the edge adds smoothness and sophisticated tone to the model. Oh, how could I forget about a signature of the master – his red sole? The sandal has it as well. A good old tradition.
You know looking at this shoe I remember Barbie shoes for some reason. I do not know what makes me think so. Maybe they look so colorful or playful as a pair of fancy doll’s sandals. Anyway, they are bright, funny yet sophisticated and elegant, which is a wonderful option for fashion lovers to highlight not only their beauty and exquisite style but also vivid and playful mood. The sandal is a real anticipation of summer.

Recently I have realized that it is almost a year since we talked about summer shoe collections. Looking back at those shoe lines I see a huge difference in designer decisions from collections they offer this summer. But there is still an exception. Nothing seems to be more popular than simple but charming ballet flats. And today I suggest that you take a look at Marc Jacobs version of a ballet flat for Spring – Summer 2010.

The designer presented a ballet flat made of suede in black color. It features classic round toe and a very low heel that is almost invisible. Its design is simple - surface of the shoe is trimmed with fancy adornment details. To adorn a ballet flat Mark Jacobs has decided to use multicolor pastes. Sometimes pastes look excessive and obtrusive, but here it is all right. The little multicolor pastes form on the toe part an image of a mouse - a funny face, ears and a tail. I would say, the result looks quite fancy and childish. Such shoes are a perfect decision for young girls who still love to feel kids.

The greatest advantage of the ballet flats is a combination of style and comfort. You may wear them at a small party with friends, or use them for everyday wear. The ballet flats can be paired with jeans or black short dress. What is more, every club goer will definitely enjoy them – you can dance the whole night and so not suffer from foot ache.

And the last but not the least, we only have a price of the novelty to mention. The ballet flat designed by Marc Jacobs and featuring a funny mouse on it cost as much as $ 280. Is the flats worth this sum of money or not, it is up to you to decide. Good luck!
