Raf Simons is a Belgian fashion designer. He turned into a menswear designer after several years of self studying. Not everybody can boast of such patience and love to fashion as Raf has. At first, he worked with Walter Van Beirendonck in Paris, where he was exposed to the work of Martin Margiela and Jean-Paul Gaultier.

Today every woman is aware of health problems that can be caused by wearing high heels. Anyway, thousands of women keep on wearing them in spite of numerous warnings and enormous risk.
This article is dedicated to those of you who cannot live without heels yet want to stay healthy. The main question is if it is possible. Cheer up, it really is. But there is a list of recommendations and notifications to fulfill to achieve the aim.
Cant Live without High Heels!!!
First of all, when you realize your everyday tasks put on the low-heel footwear – approximately 2.4 inches. Middle and high heels can be worn only in case if you do not need to stand on the feet several hours in succession and you have a possibility to take them off periodically to let the feet rest.
Cant Live without High Heels!!!
Besides, physicians recommend being on the middle and high heels just up to 3-4 hours. Or at least try to take them off every 2 hours and massage your feet or perform some mini gymnastics. It is also recommended to walk barefooted for several minutes to train the Achilles tendon.
Cant Live without High Heels!!!
You should not disregard that when choosing footwear your choice should partially depend on your body type. I often see excessive weight women walking in stilettos. And that is the greatest mistake as heels in this case cannot provide the proper balance. Summing it up, the rule is try to balance footwear with your figure.
Cant Live without High Heels!!!
And the last tip for everybody. Try to buy the shoes you feel comfortable in from the very first minute. According to statistics, nearly 80 per cent of women wear the wrong size. The hope that the footwear will wear in is too fake and the process is too painful as it causes corn as a minimum. So, make the right choice and stay healthy!

From day to day there are more women who make a difficult decision to go under the knife. Well, some people really need it, while the overwhelming majority of cosmetic surgeons’ patients just want to look better. Today women enhance busts and lips, correct noses and eye shape, and so on. And it is pity to recognize but feet are not an exception.
Go Under the Knife to Fit Designer Heels?
Nowadays approximately seventy percent of Americans will experience some type of foot problem at some point in their lives. Earlier surgeons could do little to improve cosmetically foot imperfections. But today the situation has changed dramatically, most feet problems can be corrected by cosmetic foot surgery. The trend, inspired by Sarah Jessica Parker, has led to more and more ladies having cosmetic foot surgery – often simply for appearance’s sake. And that is what makes me shiver.
One of the most popular operations is ‘Cinderella procedure’ – a preventive bunion correction that helps to make a foot narrower. This should make wearing narrow toed shoes more comfortable. Women are ready to do everything to fit glam and trendy designer shoes and to correspond to a widely imposed standard. But is it really harmless?
Go Under the Knife to Fit Designer Heels?
The answer is an obvious NO. Rock Positano, D.P.M., director of the nonsurgical foot and ankle service warns that even a perfectly realized cosmetic foot surgery can cause problems. According to him, our feet are a perfect construction made by Mother Nature. But at the same time it is a super complex construction that will not stand intrusion. In the result hospitals are full of women disabled by failed cosmetic surgery on feet, operations done solely to improve the appearance of the foot or supposedly to help patients fit into fashionable shoes.
But women still go “under the knife” and keep wearing high heels no matter what. Which is more important – sexy look or your health?

Australian brand Preston Zly was set up in 1993 in Melbourne by designer Johanna Preston and scultor Petr Zly. Since then, for almost two decades, this creative couple has been designing unusual women’s footwear that makes us drop the jaws.

It is curious that the latest collection of the couple is named Metropoli as it was inspired by a movie with the same title. In the result, the collection is something retrofuturistic yet trendy.

There is not a common critical acclaim of the Metropoli shoe collection. As the collection is very extravagant, some fall in love with it, while others hate the idea of wearing such a shoe. The only thing is clear, nobody feels indifferent to this work of art.

The Metropoli collection includes footwear of innovative shapes. Besides, the designers used unexpected materials, which adds a spice to the whole look. Every item in the collection is of high quality and designers promise the shoes will fit well. But what I can say judging by the pictures is that these shoes are fantastic though weird enough!

As weird the shoes are that unusual are the name they have. There are shoes named Antigone, Nebula, Andromeda, Psyche, Mir, Cerce, Cypher, Cosmos and so on. It seems that the name itself prepares us for something futuristic and unexpected. Wearing Preston Zly shoes is like a cosmos fly – that unbelievable and innovative.
