The day before yesterday a famous fashion designer Roberto Cavalli celebrated his 70th anniversary. Besides, this year it is his 40th year in the industry so he is really worth praising. Roberto Cavalli acted as a pioneer in many things, for example, he began as a textile printer for an Italian knitwear line, then he was the first to design a series of floral prints that caught the attention of several companies.

In the early 70?s he invented and patented a new way to print leather and began to piece them together. Hermes and Pierre Cardin immediately commissioned pieces from him. He then started his own fashion house featuring bright flamboyant fabrics that appealed to the trendsetters. In 1992 he featured sand blasted denim – to tell the truth I was surprised to know this fact. The genius of the designer is undeniable.

At age 30, he presented his first namesake collection at the Salon for Prêt-à-Porter in Paris. He brought it to the catwalks of the Sala Bianca of Palazzo Pitti in Florence, and later on those of Milano Collezioni jeans made of printed denim, intarsia leathers, brocade and wild prints. He then opened his first boutique in 1972 in Saint-Tropez.

The only scandal in which Cavalli resulted involved happened in 2004. It was then that Cavalli was sharply criticized by the Hindu community for marketing a line of feminine underwear (designed for Harrods) which featured the images of Hindu goddesses. The line was eventually withdrawn and formal apologies were made.

In an interview he once said, “My fashion has become a success because other designers have become so monotonous.” I really thing that his designs are anything but monotonous. That is one of the reasons of Cavalli’s enormous success. Here I have some more pictures of his gorgeous inventions.

Recently the company presented a new shoe collection for Spring – Summer 2011. The collection includes a series of heels and wedges that will doubtlessly make your legs slimmer and sexier. You can see here a couple of wedges made in pastel pink hue. It is pretty elegant, exquisite and classy. Multiple straps are still in fashion, that is why strappy wedges from ALDO are the right choice.

Adele Casagrande set up a small leather and fur company in 1918, but it was through her marriage with Edoardo Fendi in 1925 that this Italian label got its famous name. After Karl Lagerfeld joined as the brand’s creative director in 1966 and created the double F logo, Fendi rapidly grew into one of the world’s premier luxury labels, with ready-to-wear, fragrance, eyewear, shoes, luggage, and home furnishings among its many interests. This fall, invest in timeless sophistication with Lagerfeld’s collection of elegant, comfortable and feminine boots.

Leather platform knee boots are bronze leather knee high boots featuring a heel that measures about 120mm with a 40mm concealed platform. Fendi boots have an almond toe, stitched seam detailing and a zip fastening at side. Wear these casualwear looking boots to add a subtle flash of metallics to denim.

The next offer from Fendi is Gold Mine leather boots. Green leather knee high boots with a low heel that measures 4 cm. Fendi boots are loose fit, have a leather band at top with a designer stamped gold tone plaque, a concealed zip fastening along inner leg and a simply pull on. But what I like about this boot most of all is a designer moss green color.

When I came across the items made by Maison Martin Margiela when surfing the Internet yesterday, I was amazed by some ideas of the designer. That is why I offer you the most extravagant boot that might be of interest for fashionistas this winter.

Maison Margiela is a Belgian fashion designer. He studied at Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts along with the legendary avantgarde fashion collective the Antwerp Six. Many still consider him to be the “7th” member of the collective.

Maison Martin Margiela unveiled fabulous Sculptural wool boots. They have an exaggerated round toe, zip fastening on inner ankle, a white stitch at back and stitched seams. These wool boots are made in natural gray color and feature a cone shaped heel that measures about 12 and a half cm with a 25mm concealed platform. I think the heel is high enough to look sexy yet steady enough to be comfortable.

Give winter ensembles avant garde edge with Maison Martin Margiela’s gray wool sculpted platform boots. Experts advise to wear this style with minimalist separates and gothic accessories for a contemporary downtown look.

The most unusual thing about the wool boots is a sculptured sole. It looks a bit massive and strange but it is very extravagant. In the picture you can see a model wearing the Maison Martin Margiela Sculptural Wool Boots teamed up with Alexander McQueen bangle, Acne jeans, Kain top and a handbag by Maison Martin Margiela.

And the last thing for now is the price. The boots are available online at £514.89. I think it is not that much for quality designer boots, and would you pay that sum of money for the Maison Martin Margiela Sculptural Wool Boots?
