| Talking about my personal preferences I fell in love with Fold footwear from United Nude. This shoe is based on the concept of a single band that wraps along the foot as a scarf. | The Spring 2011 Runway show turned sights of the whole fashion public to a new name in the fashion industry – Jen Kao. The designer was born in Los Angeles, raised in Kansas City and based in New York. After finishing Parsons School of Design she went to work for some reputable designers. Later on she managed to launch her own label. |

The backstory for the Runway show involved girls wandering the desert in an altered state where they find the man of their dreams. At the background sounded Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game”.
Unlike the overwhelming majority of famous designers who are still creating skyscraper heels with architectural shapes that put fear into the hearts of professional runway models, the ’shoes’ paired with Jen Kao’s light, flowing outfits were breathtaking without adding even an inch of height to the models lucky enough to be wearing them. Simply speaking, the models walked barefoot. |

| I would call that a barefoot sandal concept. The girls wore hand needle tatted sandals with cotton thread in an original design inspired by an antique pattern with crocheted straps. The barefoot sandal concept is not new to Jen Kao. Some examples made of cotton thread and beads are available via the Internet. |

| If you asked me to describe the collection in a few words I would choose such adjectives as romantic, dreamy and soft. Is not that what the designer mean? |

| I can imagine the envy other models felt looking at barefoot girls who stepped along the stage with confidence. Comfort, chic, fresh ideas and strong attention to details – that is what makes Jen Keo stand out. |

| Lately the designer launched a new shoe collection that has every right to become a must have of the season. At least, it is really worth our attention. So, let’s take a look at Fall – Winter 2010/11 shoe collection from Charlotte Olympia. |

| Every shoe reveals common fun, good mood and happiness. Fall does mean that we should look gloomy and dull. I would describe the collection as an eccentric, vamp and sexy one. |

| The collection is based on vivid colors such as purple, deep blue, black, red and raspberry pink. Some shoes feature a combination of mentioned colors. |

| The most fresh and unusual are the pumps with metallic upper. Shimmering surface of the shoes look sexy yet unobtrusive. Anyway, it is obviously meant for confident ladies. |

| I personally appreciate that the collection is very diverse; the shoe models are ranging from classic yet vamp looking ankle boots to everyday and comfortable ballet flats. |

| Charlotte Olympia’s distinctive feature is high heels and platforms. And the majority of shoes is based on this concept. However the collection includes several types of wedges with massive platform and made of suede or patent leather. |

| Besides, there are some ballet flats made in modern hues. Besides, I personally love straps with buckles that go along the ankle. You can see in the pictures two ballet flats in leopard print, blue, green, red and purple colors. |

British designer Nicholas Kirkwood is the biggest name in shoes today, with his daring sculptural shapes that meld contemporary art and fashion.
Every season the fashion designer tends to collaborate with other brands or famous personalities. I remember his work with Rodarte, Peter Pilotto and Erdem. The result was just fantastic. And now the designer decided to join efforts with Keith Haring’s Foundation. |

| Keith Haring was a pop and graffiti artist and social activist, whose work was influenced by the street culture of the 80?s. The artist had a very short career as in 1990 he died from AIDS. Today functions a fund of Keith Haring that produces clothes, shoes and accessories created in Keith’s unique style. Let’s take a closer look at what we have in the result. |

| Recently were presented to the public several sketches of heels that will be released in February 2011. The collection will be based on the art of Haring. A total of 12 styles will be included. The collection will be obviously one of the most vivid and bold ones we have seen in our lives. I would describe it as expressive and flamboyant presentation. |

My attention was driven by architectural heel resembling a blue baby, extravagant prints and jaw dropping details. The collection resulted extremely symbolic as every element was inspired by Keith Haring’s work.

| According to the designer, when he watch a documentary featuring Keith, he could not stop thinking about how amazing and prolific he was and how great it would be to incorporate his graphics into shoe designs. That is why he ended up approaching the Keith Haring Foundation. The designer’s talent is really incredible. |
