Extraordinary Shoe Collection from Miu Miu

Each collection presented by a world known fashion brand is supposed to be a sensation. There are designers whose works are inspired by exotic or oriental motifs, those who put their heart in futuristic looks, and those whose perception of beauty is in elegance and sophisticated images. I would divide all of them in those who prefer common trends, and the ones who love to stand out of the crowd by all means.

The collections of such masters are long awaited and are a real sensation. One of the most extraordinary shoe collections of the season is doubtlessly the collection by Miu Miu. I suggest that we have a good look at this weird yet captivating footwear.

Fall – Winter 2010/2011 Shoe collection from Miu Miu has surpassed all expectations. Designers’ imagination has no limits, that is what I think looking at these unusual shoes. Each shoe is adorned with multiple details, you will see here bows, bulk flowers, funny cuffs, and many others.

I would like to drive your attention to cuffs. That is the most extravagant and stunning adornment I have ever seen. Sure, I do not take into account futuristic collection where imagination is beyond the limits of reality. In regard to the amount of bows and flowers is quite excessive – each shoe features three or four bows with supplement flowers. No doubt, not every woman will courage to put on such a shoe.

Nevertheless, it is impossible to confuse the shoe with the work of any other designer. I wonder what the inspiration for Miucci Prada was.

The dominant color is black, and each item is made in monochrome style. Only inserts of nude, light green or yellow bring vivid and fresh look to the shoe models. I think the designer decided to complicate these sophisticated and extravagant constructions.

Elegance & Extravaganza from Yves Saint Laurent

I believe that each fashion brand has its own distinctive features that make it stand out. On the base of these features we can tell one shoe designer from another. The same is with Yves Saint Laurent masterpieces. The creative director of the brand is Stefano Pilati who has worked as a designer for such famous brands as Prada, then Miu Miu. And since 2000 he has been cooperating with Yves Saint Laurent.

Stefano Pilati’s style can be recognized due to the designer’s ability to combine extravagant details with elegance. Personally, I see it as an extraordinary ability. So, let’s have a look at the new collection presented by the master for Fall – Winter 2010/2011.

The overwhelming majority of shoe models are made of suede that is considered noble and modest material at the same time. Pilati trimmed suede with very unusual detail – a fur fringe. Well, looking at these heels I tend to think about a bristling animal that attracts and terrifies at the same time.

If you share quite conservative or traditional sense of style, the designer offered a series of elegant and classic heels that feature a refined toe, a small and beautiful platform, and a high, attractive heel. Each detail of these heels is modest, classy, traditional, elegant yet modern. There is also a pattern leather shoe that looks as gorgeous as any suede model. Leather here seems more modest in comparison with “rich” suede, but it is definitely worth our attention.

By the way, not a single Fall – Winter collection can do without boots and booties. Guess what material was used for them? Yeah, it is suede. The boots look so comfy and attractive that would try them on with great pleasure. But as far as fringed shoes are concerned, they are perfect for extravagant women who want to be in the limelight.

Alexander McQueen: The Last Collection of the Master

The world of fashion has not gone through the fact that there will be no more masterpieces of the best in the area. Alexander McQueen was an example, an idol for a lot of new made designers. The master has gone but his popularity seems to be increasing from day to day. Nobody has left indifferent to his creations. At the Paris Fashion Week the last collection of the master was finally presented. It is dedicated to a rich heritage of the world culture. Check out the best moments in the pictures below.

The imagination of Alexander McQueen had no limits. Remember, for example, his Spring – Summer 2010 Collection, and compare it with what you can see now. The difference is evident. There is no techno style or futuristic ideas; the master found the inspiration in the past, in the depth of the centuries. His last collection is dedicated to Byzantine art, and specifically, on the works of Sandro Botticelli, Jean Fouquet, Stefan Lochner and other eminent artists.

Let’s have a good look at the shoes presented in the collection. Boots and booties on a high platform are trimmed with numerous gold beads. It seems that a gold stream spontaneously hardened on the platform and turned into the work of art created by nature. Heels are also gilded, besides, there is a spiral carving on the surface of the heels, which makes them look like ancient columns. Shoe décor have common gilded details with luxurious outfits of the models.

In spite of ancient theme, the shoes look very modern. Have a look at the top of the thigh-highs, it is girdled with leather straps featuring gold buckles. That looks very unique and unusual, is not it?
It is a pity that the collection was only 80 per cent over when the designer died. I bet that it is worth being exposed in a museum.

The Mystery of Balenciaga Architectural Shoes

The name of Nicolas Ghesquière is known for each fashion connoisseur. The main designer of Balenciaga, he is called a guardian angel of the brand. Nicolas has been worked for Balenciaga foe over 10 years now, but his every collection is unique and impressive. The last shoe collection of the master represents a mixture of retro and futurism. In the result we can see modern and architectural shoe models.

What I noticed first of all is light spring color scheme. I was really amazed by it because the overwhelming majority of designer for some reason offer gloomy fall colors in their spring collections. Nicolas Ghesquière made his shoes bright and varicolored, which makes them stand out of the crowd. On the whole such shoes have a fresh and vanguard look.

The second detail that drives attention is that architectural heels and futuristic platforms are combined with the trends of the previous decades. Look at the nose, lacing, material – they make me think of granny’s booties. I see it as an original and vanguard idea, as a bold challenge to traditional tendency and look. Not every modern fashion designer can afford doing this.
I cannot but mentioning extravagant shape of the heels. Looking at them I tend to think about kid’s construction set. They feature several layers, each one of different color. To tell the truth, I love the idea.
Some shoe models are trimmed with plastic or leather details. In my point of view, the collection from Nicolas Ghesquière is ideal for spring. It will definitely have a great success.
