Alexander Wang: Shoe Collection Dedicated to Supermodels

I would call this one of the most extraordinary shoe collections of the last seasons. And the reason for it not the singularity of shoes presented in the collection. The point is it is dedicated to the models who usually take part in fashion shows of Alexander Wang. The shoe collection is designed according to the latest trends for Spring – Summer 2010.

I was surprised by the idea to name shoes by the models, but when I finally saw the collection I fell in love with designer’s imagination. He followed the image of each girl and could pass their characters into the shoes. In the result, each shoe model is unique and awesome. Let’s take, for example, Natasha Poli. The shoe was named Natasha Leopard Pump, and it reflects romantic style, modern image and sensitive nature of the girl.

Another girl Mirte Maas is a sporty girl with bold character. The same traits you can see in the shoe named Mirte Flat Boot. I admire how skillfully Alexander Wang has chosen the right style, design, height of a heel, color, material, and so on and so forth. The shoes seem to be a part of the girls, so much in common they have.

Freja Laced Bootie is dedicated to Freja Beha Erichsen, the girl who is stylish, beautiful, unique and strong. Her bootie is made of leather in black color with an unusual cuff, numerous zippers and a high heel. In a few words, the bootie is Freja’s lifestyle reflection.

Fall-Winter 2010/11 Hermes Shoe Collection

What is a Hermes woman like? There is no doubt, the main traits of Hermes woman is modern style, self confidence, strong and powerful personality, and just a beautiful woman. I some magnificent way she perfectly combines severe brutal image and elegant womanlike style. I suggest that we look at the new shoe collection presented by Hermes for Fall – Winter 2010/2011.

Creative designers of the Hermes brand definitely decided not to use black as a dominant color. Fall and winter are too gloomy seasons to wrap yourself in boring clothes and footwear. The designers offer us diverse tints of beige, brown, grey, silvery, and so on and so forth. Colors play a significant part in each collection, but what is much more important is a shape. And this collection is not an exception. Here are some pictures below that have driven my attention, and I hope they will seem interesting for you as well.
Hermes shoe collection is presented by boots and booties. Their design is laconic, quite brutal and plain – no spikes, no buckles, no adornments at all. The models have a prolate toe, a thickened sole, high top part with slipshod folds and a high wide heel. In general the boots seem perfect for everyday use – they are comfortable, modern and quality. But if you are going to wear them at a party, be very careful at choosing the right clothes to match the style.

Besides boots, there were also booties in Hermes collection. In comparison with boots, these models are vivid thanks to elegant details – small straps and buckles, decorative seams and tiny punched surface. Each detail seems me to be thought over very carefully. And the result looks modern and fresh. The main advantage of such footwear is that it will be a part and parcel of any wardrobe for several seasons as elegance and classics are always in fashion.

Extraordinary Shoe Collection from Miu Miu

Each collection presented by a world known fashion brand is supposed to be a sensation. There are designers whose works are inspired by exotic or oriental motifs, those who put their heart in futuristic looks, and those whose perception of beauty is in elegance and sophisticated images. I would divide all of them in those who prefer common trends, and the ones who love to stand out of the crowd by all means.

The collections of such masters are long awaited and are a real sensation. One of the most extraordinary shoe collections of the season is doubtlessly the collection by Miu Miu. I suggest that we have a good look at this weird yet captivating footwear.

Fall – Winter 2010/2011 Shoe collection from Miu Miu has surpassed all expectations. Designers’ imagination has no limits, that is what I think looking at these unusual shoes. Each shoe is adorned with multiple details, you will see here bows, bulk flowers, funny cuffs, and many others.

I would like to drive your attention to cuffs. That is the most extravagant and stunning adornment I have ever seen. Sure, I do not take into account futuristic collection where imagination is beyond the limits of reality. In regard to the amount of bows and flowers is quite excessive – each shoe features three or four bows with supplement flowers. No doubt, not every woman will courage to put on such a shoe.

Nevertheless, it is impossible to confuse the shoe with the work of any other designer. I wonder what the inspiration for Miucci Prada was.

The dominant color is black, and each item is made in monochrome style. Only inserts of nude, light green or yellow bring vivid and fresh look to the shoe models. I think the designer decided to complicate these sophisticated and extravagant constructions.

Elegance & Extravaganza from Yves Saint Laurent

I believe that each fashion brand has its own distinctive features that make it stand out. On the base of these features we can tell one shoe designer from another. The same is with Yves Saint Laurent masterpieces. The creative director of the brand is Stefano Pilati who has worked as a designer for such famous brands as Prada, then Miu Miu. And since 2000 he has been cooperating with Yves Saint Laurent.

Stefano Pilati’s style can be recognized due to the designer’s ability to combine extravagant details with elegance. Personally, I see it as an extraordinary ability. So, let’s have a look at the new collection presented by the master for Fall – Winter 2010/2011.

The overwhelming majority of shoe models are made of suede that is considered noble and modest material at the same time. Pilati trimmed suede with very unusual detail – a fur fringe. Well, looking at these heels I tend to think about a bristling animal that attracts and terrifies at the same time.

If you share quite conservative or traditional sense of style, the designer offered a series of elegant and classic heels that feature a refined toe, a small and beautiful platform, and a high, attractive heel. Each detail of these heels is modest, classy, traditional, elegant yet modern. There is also a pattern leather shoe that looks as gorgeous as any suede model. Leather here seems more modest in comparison with “rich” suede, but it is definitely worth our attention.

By the way, not a single Fall – Winter collection can do without boots and booties. Guess what material was used for them? Yeah, it is suede. The boots look so comfy and attractive that would try them on with great pleasure. But as far as fringed shoes are concerned, they are perfect for extravagant women who want to be in the limelight.
