| And the first thing I would like to drive your attention to is a high but stable and straight heel. I associate it with incredible self-confidence and straightforwardness. Now we know what a Louis Vuitton woman like. |
| Pay attention to a pointed toe – if the trend has come to the catwalk, it will definitely come back into our everyday life. By the way, Marc Jacobs is not the only shoe designer who wants to revive the trend – pointed toes were noticed in some other shoe collection for Fall and Winter to come. |

| The designer used a large variety of materials – reptile leather and suede were the major ones. But what is worth mentioning is a new decorative concept by Louis Vuitton. Every shoe features a huge (in comparison with shoe dimensions) bow made of the leather or some finishing material. The idea of such unusual décor was received enthusiastically by public. And I completely agree with them, on the one hand the shoe is simple and elegant, on the other – it is unusual and sophisticated thanks to extravagant décor. |

| So far there are both positive and negative critics reports concerning the collection. I think it is useless to argue about styles. |

S/S 2010: Ballet Flats from Marc Jacobs
|
Recently I have realized that it is almost a year since we talked about summer shoe collections. Looking back at those shoe lines I see a huge difference in designer decisions from collections they offer this summer. But there is still an exception. Nothing seems to be more popular than simple but charming ballet flats. And today I suggest that you take a look at Marc Jacobs version of a ballet flat for Spring – Summer 2010. The designer presented a ballet flat made of suede in black color. It features classic round toe and a very low heel that is almost invisible. Its design is simple - surface of the shoe is trimmed with fancy adornment details. To adorn a ballet flat Mark Jacobs has decided to use multicolor pastes. Sometimes pastes look excessive and obtrusive, but here it is all right. The little multicolor pastes form on the toe part an image of a mouse - a funny face, ears and a tail. I would say, the result looks quite fancy and childish. Such shoes are a perfect decision for young girls who still love to feel kids. |

The greatest advantage of the ballet flats is a combination of style and comfort. You may wear them at a small party with friends, or use them for everyday wear. The ballet flats can be paired with jeans or black short dress. What is more, every club goer will definitely enjoy them – you can dance the whole night and so not suffer from foot ache. |

And the last but not the least, we only have a price of the novelty to mention. The ballet flat designed by Marc Jacobs and featuring a funny mouse on it cost as much as $ 280. Is the flats worth this sum of money or not, it is up to you to decide. Good luck! |
S/S 2010 Trend: Horizontal Platform
There are cases when two different brands show surprisingly similar designer decisions. And if such brands are considered trendsetters so it is essential to take a good look at their ideas because they are quite possible to become a new fashion trend.
In Spring – Sumer 2010 collection presented by Calvin Klein the emphasis was made on quite unusual shoes. Well, it is not Surrealistic Shoes but they have obviously drawn attention of fashion society. Calvin Klein shoes for the next season remind ancient footwear that can be perfectly matched with ancient Egypt suits. But at the same time the footwear looks modern and even a bit futuristic, especially the ones made of silver colored leather.

The main thing to pay attention to in the collection is low almost horizontal platform. So that the whole image doesn’t look heavy designers decided to make the upper from thin straps. If you look closely you will see that the platform is cut at the front and rare side to make the shoe look lighter.
And now let’s take a look at another collection with the same features. I am talking about Marc by Marc Jacobs. The collection also features silver shoes but these ones don’t have open toe. A fastener on the ankle was replaced by laces. What both collections have in common is low horizontal platform. Nevertheless, they have a considerable difference. Marc Jacobs shoes feature a pretty low heel. Well, do these shoes remind ancient footwear as well?

There is no doubt, both Calvin Klein and Marc Jacobs shoes presented for Spring – Summer 2010 have certain likeness, though both brands have managed to create unique style. What is no less important, there is an obvious tendency to comfort. Low and steady platform, low heels prove that. Well, we have plenty of time to decide what to choose the season to come.
