In continuation to the topic of Haute Couture shoe collections for Spring – Summer 2010 with Christian Dior shoe line already discussed, I would like to present you now a haute couture shoe collection from Jean Paul Gaultier. The collection of the master claims to be the most exquisite one at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. It is this collection where you can see the most extravagant items: from Mexican sombreros to brutal metal bracelets girdling a foot. Well, let’s have a good look at the collection.

As well as outfits, shoes presented by Jean Paul Gaultier appeared to be very diverse and extravagant. For example, high cowboy boots were paired with puffed dresses, slacks or sexy leotards.

The same cowboy style you can see in shoes with T-shaped strap and ethnic print. The cowboy shoe models caused a lot of discussion. Some fashion connoisseurs consider them to look very brutal with no allusion to femininity. Other fashion lovers claim the shoes to be quite extravagant and unique. That is quite clear, the designers seemed to think about freshness and green nature of summer. Motton blue heels with braiding attract attention of everybody. They seem to be made of leaves, and perfectly go with evening dress.

Who have made it up that boots and booties are good only for cold seasons? Actually, nobody has ever affirmed the idea. On the contrary, now we have a shoe designer who has decided to face the unfair opinion and turn it upside down. I am talking about Gianni Barbato who has got tired of centuries old stereotypes and presented in his new shoe collection a mixture of all seasons. Let’s take a look at some shoe models presented in the collection.

The line comprises a vast range of booties and boots designed specially for warm weather. You can see here a designer decision that brings a shoe industry to a whole new level. This concept is hard to accept because we have got used to traditional shoe models and styles. That is why Gianni Barbato shoes have become a revolution in its sphere. Besides, there are shoes in the collection that can be considered real works of art. Let’s take, for example, these boots - sandals. They combine black laces, sheer material reminding a veil that girdles a leg tightly. What is more, the boot features a beautiful, unusual gilded heel and a platform. The toe and heel part are also cover with gilded material that goes along the leg up to the upper part. Gianni Barbato’s imagination can work miracles - the designer did not confine himself to unprecedented design but added extravagant details creating a real work of art.

Another shoe model that can be exposed at the art gallery is elegant booties. They feature the same futuristic platform with amazing heel as the previous model. But it is black and not girdled. The bootie has no bright colors and fancy details. It is elegant, strict, and sophisticated. Delicate embroidery goes along the whole surface creating beautiful pattern. I swear that I have never seen anything like this before.

The season to come spikes is the most popular accessory shoes are trimmed with. It seems to turn into an obvious and unconditional fashion trend. The trend is used by lots of shoe designers but what we have is tough rock shoes that will never add a zest to your outfit. The thing is spikes may look not only aggressive but also rather feminine as, for example, these heels from the world renowned shoe designer Christian Louboutin.

It is common knowledge that Louboutin always uses the most popular accessories but he turns them into something uncommon and extravagant. Everybody uses spikes today but Louboutin’s masterpieces stand out among them because he has managed to turn spikes into sensual and womanlike shoe details.

The top part of the shoe is made of transparent plastic and adored with silvery spikes. Bright metal perfectly goes with “silvered” leather of an ankle strap. The outer part of a stiletto heel and a sole are also trimmed with “silvered” leather. In general, they look elegant and sophisticated.

And what about Louboutin’s signature, I mean his famous red sole? The designer has never been false to himself. And this shoe is not an exception. There is no doubt that silvery tints curiously contrast with red sole, do not they?

Now the question is what to wear with these elegant sandals? I can figure out them paired with a light and beautiful evening dress made of black silk, for example. Or you may try it with a sexy mini. The point is to feel in your shoes.
