Do you remember the times when you were a kid? Do you remember dull shoes or simple black and white sneakers you used to wear at that time? Nowadays things have changed a lot – and a kid can change the footwear just according to his taste. How is it possible? Ask U*neaks.
This company has patented the footwear, that is customizable and changeable. These are shoes in sneaker style that have limpid-clear windows in them, so you can see the socks clearly. The children, therefore, have a chance to change their shoes continuously, from day to day, simply by choosing new socks. U*neaks shoes are always sold with a pair of double-sided socks, to show the children and their parents the fun of using U*neaks. Beside the shoes, the company also produces a wide range of socks, featuring the pictures of cartoon heroes and favourite comic strip heroes.
This bright company of children’s footwear was created in Somerset, New Jersey. The founder of the company was Ingenuity Express Corp. The CEO of this company Jeff Gabriele, together with his friend Steve Braynock have worked out the main company’s concept – the concept of changing shoes. Both friends graduated from Rutgers University, and in 1990 Steve Braynock had an idea of customizable shoes. Only in 2003 he shared this idea with his university friend Jeff Gabriele. On September 9th, 2008, Steve Braynock and Jeff Gabriele finally got a patent for their project, a patent number 7,421,806 “for customizable footwear sytem”. They have achieved their goal and developed U*neaks. Today the company also collaborates with Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York.
Today U*neaks is available in 28 shops of the USA and also in several on-line retailers. Unfortunately, European kids can not easily get this bright innovation. But nevertheless U*neaks stay one of the top children’s footwear brands in the world.
